As humans have triumphed over nature, we have a lot more time to be decadent. Decadence can be defined as anything that is not essential for our survival. Navel contemplation is perhaps the ultimate decadence. MEDIUM is an artificial ecosystem by which some manage to carve out a living. I imagine the woke world has many such entrepreneurs as well, fueled by many more woke consumers.
